‘PHANTOM POWER’
30.08.2025 - 07.09.2025

In this workshop, participants explored the Otto-Wagner-Areal (OWA) in Vienna through sonic and visual experimentation. Using Ambisonics and multichannel audio, we created a collective, speculative portrait of the site—its architectures, myths, absences, and ghosts. Rather than documenting what is visible, we worked through abstraction, distortion, and reduction, tracing the echoes of forgotten figures and hidden atmospheres.

Field recordings, found objects, and oral fragments were manipulated through looping and layering, guided by the idea of a speculative acoustic archaeology. Sound was treated as a relational and spatial force—transgressive, porous, and in motion. The workshop culminated in a public exhibition and a 6-channel Ambisonics installation, presenting the resulting compositions as an immersive sonic and visual environment.
